by Robin D. Perez, Education Program Specialist II

In a Division Memorandum released on January 20, 2023, all currently enrolled Grade 12 learners in public and private schools will take the test through a paper-based modality. It was also mentioned that all schools are urged to ensure strict adherence in the preparation and implementation of the test administration. Also, compliance with the roles and responsibilities of the field-testing personnel, including school principals, testing coordinators, assigned room supervisors, room examiners, monitoring supervisors, medical officers, and the technical working group, is enjoined based on the issued guidelines.

Dr. Jane Valencia, Education Program Supervisor and Testing Coordinator of the Division ensured that all processes involving the achievement test went without a hitch. In addition, Dr. Valencia provided virtual orientation to all schools coordinator on January 27, 2023, via Microsoft Teams.

Diosdado Macapagal High School, headed by sir Naszer Yco, served as the distribution and retrieval center of testing materials for the said activity. Schools were given a schedule for an easygoing distribution flow and retrieval of testing materials.

All supervisors and members of the monitoring team of the division were directed to observe the execution of NATG12. Challenges and concerns were monitored during the exam, but testing coordinators, room supervisors, and room examiners carried out remedies and avoided delays and confusion.

All schools have executed the examinations as planned. The test results will serve as data and evidence for improving curriculum implementation and evidence-based decision-making. The NAT result will also give insight into the percentage of Grade 12 students with the minimum proficiency level in the fourth stage of the SHS core areas.

The test covered 21st-century skills and the primary learning topics in SHS, including languages, humanities, communication, mathematics, science, social science, and philosophy.
